2016 saw a quick rise of the psychy, coastal-infused vibes of our dear Capital Coast along NSW shorelines
The band took a debut EP release in January along for the ride across Sydney suburbs, with residencies at both The Hotel Steyne’s Moonshine Bar and the Captain Cook Hotel, running their own pub mini fest, and trekking it from Newcastle to Moruya to play back to back shows in the summer.
Brain Studios lent a hand with putting down fresh tracks that spawned single Inside Times, which was paired up with some great visual styling courtesy of budding Wollongong director-journo Declan Arrighi. A bit of press, a few shows here and there, and a second single was up for grabs with a mini east coast tour banged out by the end of July for track Sun Gunn.
The bigger and the better
Between lineup changes, musical mentoring, and discovering a new vision, the boys have set their sights on a greater sound for 2017. This act, yet to be debuted, had already flown a few new tracks under Capital Coast’s banner at Beach Street Fest in Newcastle, as well as at scattered pub shows in Sydney during the bands twilight months. Wrapping up in their home away from home for a New Years Eve headline at the Moruya Bowling Club, the band bid farewell to the stage with the promise of a sophomore EP to be put onto the airwaves ‘when it can be bloody taken care of’ – and that time has finally come.
