The Bank is once again getting a high dose of sonic goodness from Visions, featuring a pretty sweet Friday night lineup
Noire are the clean cut choral noise of someones dreamscape plugged into a synth and drum. There are some strong vibes with this lot, their Sydneyside indulgence of classic sounds from Leonard Cohen to Nico really come through in their EP Baby Blue . They might strike up some early Warpaint-esque chords with the familiar listener; washed out ‘verb vox and jangling chorus that soars through jazzmaster tones, augmenting slight warbles of tuning that give a great coupling of analog and digital flavour.
Now if that feels just a little too laid back, don’t fret, the Visions curators have a little slice of pie for every punter – WAWAWOW are pretty balls deep psychedelic dudes, just killing a ripper set for HAPPYMag and have a new single out on the airwaves – check out on Spotify for a taster, its irreverent space fun and we are pretty sweet with that.
By no means least, HUNCH are some Newtown boys with a veritably unique sound that first clipped our ears at Cookfest last year. Not long on the scene compared to some, these lads have accomplished serious goals, supporting sharehousehold names like Hockey Dad, SKEGGS, and The Creases. An unorthodox double frontment setup that is self diagnosed as “doom pop” in sound, their new release “GOD” is a semi-spoken word, semi-lofigarage, all honest tune that certainly evokes a strange feeling in the lyrics.
Honestly, you would be hard pressed to find an act of such a sound playing pubs at the moment – do not miss the 10.40 kickoff for this one, Hunch followed by WAWAWOW, Noire taking it over the line with the promise of some dope DJ’s to top it off. Keep your Friday kicking at this weekend riot – seeeeeyez there !
